Application Requirements
- Official transcripts from secondary school and from any post-secondary school attended (no photocopies accepted)
- BGSU Financial Statement (PDF)
- A copy of the applicant's passport or National ID
- English Language Proficiency requirements, provide one (or more) of the following recommended minimums from the list below:
- 71 TOEFL IBT
- BGSU College Code: 1069
- 69 MELAB
- 6.0 IELTS
- 48 Pearson Test of English (PTE)
- 100 Duolingo English Test Score (temporarily accepted through Spring 2025 admission)
- Completion of ELS Intensive English for Academic Purposes Level 112
- Acceptable SAT* composite score in verbal and math
- BGSU’s College Codes: SAT – 1069
- ACT* composite score with a competitive English band score
- BGSU’s College Codes: ACT – 3240
- Attend a high school using English as the medium of instruction for a minimum of one academic year
- *SAT/ACT Not required for Admission but required for Merit-based Scholarship.

Note: All of the credentials indicated above must be official documents in the English language. Official documents must be the original documents, notarized copies, or official English translations with the official seal or stamp of the notary or the English translator on each document. We cannot accept photocopies or documents marked "Issued to Student".
New Student Immigration Information
Undergraduate - The Office of International Programs and Partnerships will help you prepare the documents necessary for the form I-20 and guide you through the other parts of the immigration process.
In order to issue your immigration documents we require the following information:
- Copy of Passport Information Page
- Financial Statement and Supporting Evidence such as a copy of your (or your sponsors) Bank Statements and Affidavits of Support or Certificate of Loan
- USA Visa (if you have one)
- US I-20 form (if you have one)

Scholarships
International students are qualified for the BG Success Scholarship* (for non-Ohio residents) and other merit based scholarships based upon academic standing and test scores.
International student applicants must send the required documents directly to Office of Admissions for admission review:
