Continuing Education

The School of Nursing is committed to ongoing education for nurses at all career stages.

American Heart Association (AHA) CardioPulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Basic Life Support (BLS) class is offered on-campus in the School of Nursing Skills Lab. This certification is required for students prior to the start of their Junior Year, and ongoing CPR certification is a licensure requirement. Dates and fees for certification classes for the coming year will be determined. Currently, registration is limited to current nursing students and rising juniors entering the program. If you are a community healthcare provider, please check back as this course may become open depending upon demand.

Summer Nursing Camp is an opportunity for high-school level students to explore the possiblity of a career in nursing and experience the BGSU School of Nursing's Simulation and Skills laboratories.

For those nurses interested in becoming a preceptor for our students, we offer continuing education credit on the expectations of preceptors and students completing preceptorships. Interested parties should contact our Clinical Coordinator, Lacey Davis at laceyd@bgsu.edu.

In the summer of 2023, the School of Nursing Simulation Lab is proud to be hosting a continuing education credit for current nurses regarding OB Preeclampsia and Postpartum Hemorrhage, at the request of our long-term partners at Vantage Healthcare of Ohio.
