Wendy D. Manning is Dr. Howard E. and Penny Daum Aldrich Distinguished Professor of Sociology at Bowling Green State University and former president of the Population Association of America. She is the Co-Director of the National Center for Family & Marriage Research (NCFMR) and founding director of the Center for Family and Demographic Research (CFDR). She is a family demographer who studies relationship and family formation as well as stability across the life course. She also examines intergenerational relationships and well-being with an interest in grandparents. She is on the leadership team for two ongoing longitudinal data collections: the National Couples’ Health and Time Use Study (NCHAT) and nine wave Toledo Adolescent Relationship Study (TARS). She has received funding for her work from NIH, NSF, and NIJ. Dr. Manning’s research fits within the CAF’s research themes on health disparities in family aging and the changing demography of aging families.
