Shawn Bauldry

Shawn Bauldry is Professor of Sociology at Purdue University. He is a methodologist and demographer with a research focus on intergenerational and life course processes linking socioeconomic resources and health in later life. One recent line of research examines the relationship between adult children’s education and their parents’ health and longevity. Another line of research draws on demographic methods to estimate how long different subpopulations can expect to live maintaining both physical and cognitive function. Beyond his work on aging family health and family health disparities, Bauldry contributes to the development of statistical methods for aging and family research and is currently the Series Editor for Sage’s Quantitative Analysis in the Social Sciences.
