Shannon Jarrott

My 25 years of research experience in intervention development, stakeholder engagement, and the care of persons living with dementia began as a doctoral fellow on a study of adult day service respite use for caregivers of adults with dementia. As a Director of Research at a university adult day services program, my research focused on intergenerational strategies and programs that target community-dwelling older adults living with dementia and their care partners. With goals of responding to changing demographics and health of youth, older adults, and their families, my work currently focuses on intergenerational strategies to address community needs. My expertise supports creation of theory- and evidence-informed intergenerational interventions, pragmatic practice strategies, and outcome measures with the potential to address geriatric workforce issues and the health of current and future older adults.
