Dr. Marian Liu is an Associate Professor at Purdue University’s School of Nursing. Elder justice is her research focus, covering topics on elder abuse, neglect/self-neglect, and exploitation/scam. She has been investigating victim and abuser risk/strength by abuse type. She works with Adult Protective Services (APS) at the national, state (California, Montana, Utah, Indiana, Massachusetts), and county level (San Francisco, Napa) to measure effective service and outcomes using the Identification, Services, and Outcomes Matrix. She has also been advocating for APS workforce training, recruitment, and retention.
