Dr. Jie Hu is a Professor in the College of Nursing at The Ohio State University. Her research program focuses on strengthening family support for people living with diabetes, particularly for Black and Latino communities that disproportionately affected by health disparities in diabetes. Her work aims to improve diabetes self‑management behaviors and promote better diabetes control through family dyad-centered and culturally tailored interventions. Dr. Hu’s family-based, dyad-focused diabetes self‑management interventions have been funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Her work also examines the quality of dyadic relationships and its impact on health outcomes in older adults. Her work on dyadic interventions, health disparities in diabetes and cardiovascular disease among older adults aligns closely with the mission of the Center for Aging and Families.
