David Kinitz (he/him) is a social and behavioral health researcher and Assistant Professor at The Ohio State University College of Social Work trained in social work and public health. He aims to understand social, political, and economic systems that shape LGBTQIA+ adult and aging health disparities. He has a particular focus on systems as they relate to labor market phenomena (e.g., employment) and social welfare (e.g., social assistance). David’s community-engaged research uses qualitative and mixed-methods to develop policy-relevant findings rooted in the life-course narratives of LGBTQIA+ people. Most specifically aligned with the Center for Aging Families, David is interested in better understanding the socioeconomic needs (e.g., financial security, healthcare access) of aging LGBTQIA+ populations and the role of social support.
