Leah Bogusch

Leah is a 4th year graduate student in clinical psychology.  She grew up the Kankakee, Illinois area and went to DePaul University in Chicago for her undergraduate degree in psychology.  For the next two years, Leah worked as a research assistant and a direct support specialist in a group home for individuals with developmental disabilities.  Leah earned her master’s degree in clinical psychology from the University of Indianapolis in the fall of 2015.  Her thesis investigated links between mindfulness, depression and anxiety symptoms, and health behaviors among college students.  Leah is interested in conducting research into the efficacy and feasibility of mindfulness and acceptance interventions for improving health and quality of life among people living with chronic illness.  She also has an interest in researching health disparities among American Indians and developing interventions that incorporate cultural values.  In her free time, Leah likes to ride her bike on the Slippery Elm trail, try out different ethnic foods, and watch cat videos.
