Did you know you can pay in-state tuition at the top choice for Michigan students studying out of state?

Bowling Green State University is proud to offer the Michigan Out of State Award (MOSA), which covers the full cost of the non-resident tuition fee to eligible full-time residents of Monroe, Lenawee or Wayne counties in Michigan.

To receive the award, you need to apply to BGSU by Feb. 19 and have at least one of the following: 

  • Cumulative high school GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale
  • 20 ACT composite score 
  • Score of 1040 on your SAT (critical reading plus math)

Frequently asked questions about the BGSU Michigan Out of State Award

You must be a full-time resident of Monroe, Lenawee or Wayne counties in Michigan and have at least one of the following:

  • Cumulative high school GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale
  • 20 ACT composite score
  • Score of 1040 on your SAT (critical reading plus math)

No additional application is required! All BGSU undergraduate applicants from Lenawee, Monroe and Wayne counties in Michigan are considered for the award.

You must apply for admission to BGSU by Feb. 19 in order to receive the award.

Yes! The MOSA may be applied to all four years. To continue receiving the award:

  • Keep a minimum cumulative BGSU GPA of 3.0
  • Maintain full-time enrollment at BGSU
  • Remain a resident of Monroe, Lenawee or Wayne counties in Michigan

No. The MOSA may be applied only to nonresident fees not covered by another program or award.
