A bachelor’s degree in medical laboratory science opens up greater career opportunities. You will be prepared for leadership and supervisory positions.
The online MLT to MLS program comprises 15 online courses (36 credit hours). Classes are asynchronous – you can log in whenever and wherever you want.
Finish the program in five semesters (seven weeks long), or you can go at a slower pace if that works better for you.
You will be awarded transfer credit for previous college courses that match the BG Perspective (General Education) courses and support course requirements. Any BGP or required core courses not completed prior to admission into the MLT-MLS program must be completed.

Who can apply to the MLT to MLS program?
You must meet all of these requirements to qualify for the online MLT to MLS bachelor’s degree program:
- Be a graduate of a NAACLS accredited medical laboratory technician program with an associate degree or equivalent.
- Have current certification as an MLT (ASCP)CM or be board eligible and successfully pass the American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP-BOC) before beginning MLS coursework (or see program advisor).
- Have current work experience as an MLT in a clinical laboratory.
