About the Exhibition

BGSU Art Galleries, located in the Fine Arts Center on the main BGSU campus, hosts the Northwest Ohio (Now OH) Community Art Exhibition. Now OH celebrates the incredible talents of regional artists in a professional gallery setting. Artists who display their work at the exhibition are eligible to win cash prizes and gift certificates. The awards include a Best of Show Award, a Young Artist Award, and a People’s Choice Award.

Eligibility

Artists must be aged 16 or over to enter work in the Now OH exhibition. Entrants from the following counties are eligible to participate in the NowOH Show: Defiance, Erie, Fulton, Hancock, Henry, Lucas, Ottawa, Paulding, Sandusky, Seneca, Williams, Wood

Media Requirements

You may submit 1 original piece that was completed in the past 2 years. All work that meets show rules will be exhibited. Artists of all skill levels and experience are encouraged to participate. Accepted media includes: Ceramics, Design, Digital Imaging, Drawing, Fibers, Glass, Jewelry, Mixed Media, Painting, Photography, Printmaking, or Sculpture

No installations, time-based productions, kits, or commercial work will be accepted. Each piece may not exceed 5 feet in length or width, 6 feet in height, or weigh more than 150 pounds. Works on paper must be framed under glass or acrylic. Wood frames must have inside mounted screw eyes with sturdy wire securely attached. Metal frames must have wire attached to hangers on each side of the back of the frame. Tape must be placed around the edges of the wire. No saw-tooth hangers or single loops at top of frame.

The call to artists for the next Now OH exhibition, in summer 2026, will open in spring of 2026.
