At Jerome Library, we're here to help! You can chat with a librarian whenever the reference desk is open using the chat box on the right.

BGSU Libraries also offers free individual consultations to students. Our librarians provide one-on-one in-depth help with research projects, can teach you how to use a specific database, introduce you to research tools at Jerome Library, or just simply give a ‘refresher course’ on library research!

You can make an appointment with a librarian through our online booking system any time. For individual appointments with a subject specialist, please contact us to request the contact info for the librarian in your area.

Textbooks and Course Reserves

Many professors put the textbooks for their courses on reserve. Reserve materials, for the most part, may be checked out for a limited time and used in the library. If your textbook is not on reserve, you may be able to find a copy in OhioLINK.

BGSU, OhioLINK and InterLibrary Loan (ILL)

BGSU items can generally be checked out for three weeks by undergraduates/one semester by graduate students, with unlimited renewals. Students can also request books from other Ohio libraries using OhioLINK; they generally arrive in 3-5 days. Pdfs of articles or book chapters can be requested using InterLibrary Loan (ILL).
