Digital Sign Upgrade & Content Freeze

BGSU digital sign upgrade & content freeze scheduled for Feb. 4 from 1-2 PM

Information Technology Services (ITS) will apply an upgrade to BGSU digital signs on Feb. 4, 2026, from 1-2 p.m. Any changes or updates made to digital sign content during this time will not be saved. Please log out of the content manager prior to 1 p.m. to avoid any issues.

The next time content managers login to the Four Winds content manager after the upgrade, they will need to update the Database Connection URL. Failure to do so will result in the inability to save future content changes.

Follow these instructions to update the Database Connection URL:

1. Launch the Four Winds CMS (Content Manager) application.
   • Off-campus users must be connected to the BGSU VPN.
2. Select File.
3. Select Open.
4. Right-click on digsigndb3.bgsu.edu\digsigndb3 and selectProperties.
5. Copy this URL: digsigndb4.bgsu.edu\digsigndb4 and paste it over the existing Server Name.
6. Select Test Connection to confirmthe connection is successful.
   • If the connection is not successful, confirm the new url is correct. If still unsuccessful, please contact the ITS service desk. 
7. Select OK.
8. Select OK again.
