Student Organizations

The following is just a sampling of student groups and activities within the Department of Theatre and Film. Please contact the student leaders for up-to-date information for these and our other student groups!

The purpose of this, the Alpha Eta Upsilon Chapter of ALPHA PSI OMEGA is to stimulate interest in theatre activities at Bowling Green State University and to secure for the university all the advantages and mutual helpfulness provided by a large national honor society. By electing students to membership, the society provides a reward for their participation in theatre activities at Bowling Green State University as well as stimulates interest and creates, facilitates, and produces professional development opportunities for students interested in careers in the theatrical arts. The chapter is not intended to take the place of any existing theatre organization.

BG On Screen is a media production organization that focuses on creating short films, documentaries and shows of all genres. It gives students a chance to learn the process of writing scripts, camera work, editing, and the production side/behind the scenes of completing their pitched  film projects. Whether you're a theater major interested in acting or learning video production, this organization helps to strengthen and showcase the skills you'll need to cultivate for jobs post graduation.

Each week we have a different student choreographer come in and teach a different style of dance with the occasional masterclass from a alumni, professor, or professional dancer. We encourage all to come dance with us, whether it's for passion, exercise, or just for fun! Anyone and Everyone is welcome in UDA regardless of your dance background! Classes are $3 per class or members can pay $15 a semester or $25 a year to attend unlimited classes and participate in the showcases. We hold student-run, student choreographed showcases at the end each semester that you can audition for if you have an interest in performing. We hold auditions at the beginning of each semester for our showcases. Participation is optional and you do not need to be in showcase to come to our Wednesday classes, but everyone is welcome to audition regardless of dance background. We also perform at different BGSU and community events during the year. The studio is a judgement free zone and is a place to come express who you are and what you love freely!
