- strengthen your credentials as you prepare for the job market or graduate education
- stand out, by highlighting some unique skill or interest that you have
Some recommended minors for psychology majors:
For those who want to strengthen their background in science:
- Biology
- Cognate - Choose 24 credit hours from at least 3 of the following areas: Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Economics, Mathematics, Philosophy, Physics, Sociology. Three courses used to satisfy BGP requirements may apply.
- Neuroscience
- Science (available for BS degree only)
For those who enjoy math/statistics:
For those planning to pursue a career as a counselor or therapist:
For those interested in Developmental Psychology or working with children, families, or seniors in any applied setting:
For those planning to pursue a career in Industrial-Organizational Psychology:
For those who enjoy writing and/or want to further develop their writing skills.

Still don't know what to select as a minor?
A minor does not need to be on the recommended list above to be a good minor for you. On the BGSU homepage, search for "list of minors" to see the complete list of all minors that are currently available.

Consider an Individualized Planned Minor. Work with an advisor to design a minor that reflects a theme that is not currently reflected among existing minors. Guidelines are available in the Psychology Office, Room 206.
