Research Symposium & Networking Event

The Research Symposium & Networking Event, hosted by the Center of Excellence in Health and Wellness Across the Lifespan, is an opportunity for BGSU faculty, graduate students, and undergraduate students to share their research. The event will take place on March 20, 2025 in the Bowen Thompson Student Union (BTSU).

Late Breaking Research

We welcome late breaking abstract submissions that align with the mission of our Center. We are particularly interested in projects that focus on:

  • Disease prevention
  • Health promotion
  • Health communication
  • Quality of life improvement
  • Economic benefits related to health and wellness

Interdisciplinary Collaboration: We strongly encourage the submission of posters that highlight interdisciplinary collaborative work. Our goal is to bring together researchers from diverse fields to create innovative solutions to health and wellness challenges

Eligibility: Faculty, Undergraduate, and Graduate students from all disciplines at BGSU

Submission Guidelines: All submissions are for academic poster presentations. Presenters may submit more than one abstract for presentation at the discretion of the Research Committee review. Accepted abstracts will be assigned a number and the presenter should be prepared to hang their poster within a 36 inch by 48 inch space. Additional submission guidelines include: 

  1. Presentation information must include the title of the poster, names of all authors, and the presenting author(s), current position (e.g., faculty, grad student).
  2. Abstracts should be no more than 200 words.
  3. Clearly state the research question, methods, results (if applicable), and significance of the study.
  4. Indicate any interdisciplinary collaborations and the departments involved.

How to Submit: Please submit your late breaking abstract via the Call for Abstracts button below between December 16, 2024 and January 24, 2025.

Notifications of Abstract Acceptance: Notifications of acceptance for those who submitted by the November 10, 2024 deadline will be sent by January 13, 2025. Notifications of acceptance for those who submitted by the January 24 deadline will be sent by January 31, 2025.

Event Registration: Registration for the event for those interested in attending, but not presenting, will open after January 13, 2025.
