Transfer Credit Evaluation

Undergraduate Students

BGSU's Office of Transfer Credit Evaluation may be reached by telephone at 419-372-7959 or by email to: transfer@bgsu.edu.

Current BGSU students planning to take college courses at other institutions to transfer back to BGSU should consult with their Academic Advisor first to assure they are taking courses that will apply to their current degree program.  Please refer to the host institution’s guest/transient student policies for information on applying as a guest student and any documentation needed.  If the host institution requires verification of academic standing, your transcript you supply to them will verify your academic standing.  Additional information that may be required in regards to your academic standing can be found at the following link:

To determine how courses transfer to BGSU, click on the following link and choose “Find replacement course":

If a course is not listed in Transferology, it likely has not been evaluated before, so please email transfer@bgsu.edu with the course information and the school you are planning to attend so we can have it evaluated for potential transfer credit.

  1. Transfer credit will be accepted provided the student earns a final grade of “D” or better (or Pass for Pass/Fail registration) that carries at least the quality point of 1.0 or greater (on a 4.0 scale).
  2. The grade from the host institution will not affect the BGSU accumulative average.  Exception to this statement occurs only when qualifying for honors at BGSU, at which time, all work taken at another institution is averaged into the total accumulative average or when qualifying for selected degree programs.
  3. Following completion of coursework, it is the student’s responsibility to request an official transcript be sent to Bowling Green State University from the host institution.  For the fastest processing, please have transcripts sent electronically to choosebgsu@bgsu.edu
