Academic Forgiveness

Faculty Senate approved a revised policy on academic forgiveness effective Fall Semester, 2001.

A student who returns to the University after an extended absence and who demonstrates the ability to do well academically may use Academic Forgiveness to remove the effect of earlier unsatisfactory grades. Such students are strongly encouraged to meet with an advisor in their college office to develop an academic plan and to discuss this policy.

Please read the conditions of the Academic Forgiveness Policy as expressed in the BGSU undergraduate catalog, accessible via the following button:

It is suggested that you check with your college advisor to determine if this course of action is appropriate for you. If you wish to apply for academic forgiveness after you have met the conditions stated in the policy, you may contact the Office of Registration and Records, Bowling Green State University, Bowling Green, OH 43403 for an application.
