Stephen Crompton

Stephen Crompton is British filmmaker and photographer whose work explores the American-made landscape. His work has been featured in festivals and exhibitions in the US and abroad, including the Sarasota Film Festival, Virginia Film Festival, the San Francisco Documentary Festival, Indie Grits, Athens Film and Video Festival, and the Sidewalk Film Festival. 

His most recent film, ‘Sweet Love’, was the recipient of the award for Best Short at the 29^th Dallas VideoFest.

He received his MFA in Film & Video Production and an MFA in Studio Art: Photography from the University of Iowa. He earned a BA in Film and Television Studies from Aberystwyth University in Wales.

Prior to working at BGSU, Stephen served as Media Production Coordinator and Lecturer at the University of Tampa, and as a graduate instructor at the University of Iowa. He has taught a wide range of classes in both film production and photography, including documentary production, fiction production, screenwriting, advanced post-production and digital imaging.
