BGSU Counseling Center Resources
Supporting your mental health and well-being
Short-term individual and group counseling
Students can schedule an intake appointment via secure Zoom by calling the Counseling Center at (419) 372-2081.
Crisis counseling and consultation
- Available by phone during office hours (8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday) to support students or anyone concerned about a student’s well-being. Holiday hours may differ. See the Counseling Center's webpage. After hours? Call the Firelands Hope Line: 567-867-HOPE (4673) for immediate assistance 8 a.m. to midnight.
- Mental health consultations
- Call for guidance—whether you're a student, faculty or staff member—on how to support students facing mental health challenges.
Alcohol and other drug education
Workshops, assessments and groups focused on education, prevention and support.
Student assistance and advocacy
Need extra support? We provide case management and referrals to connect students with campus and off-campus mental health resources.
Mental health educational programming
Engaging small-group workshops and programs designed to reduce barriers to care and strengthen student connections.

Wraparound Support
- Greater Sandusky Partnership resource network: This is a confidential and unlimited service that is available to assist you with resources for food, transportation, housing, child/elder care, professional counseling and more.

Campus Community Support
- Food insecurity: a pantry on the first floor of George Mylander Hall offers access to non-perishables, toiletry and hygiene products. Additionally, Second Harvest Food Bank of North Central Ohio hosts a mobile food bank monthly from campus.
- Students who are parents: support includes a family-friendly lounge, community-based networking events and available financial support for childcare for eligible students.
- See It. Hear It. Report It. Report an issue or concern to help keep our community a safe place for everyone.

- Academic and Career Counseling: our team of advisors can help you build your roadmap for your degree at BGSU and beyond.
- Firelands Library: use our rich menu of databases and tools to support your next project.
- Teaching and Learning Center: individualized academic support is available in-person and online from our dedicated network of academic support specialists.

- Financial Aid and student accounts: our team is here to help you understand your investment and the options for helping you fund your education.
- BGSU Firelands Emergency Fund: one-time emergency funding is available to help you continue your education
