Graduate Programs

The School of Earth, Environment and Society offers a wide range of courses at graduate level across Geology, Geography, and Environmental Studies.  Our faculty and students represent diverse backgrounds and perspectives on these areas of study.  We welcome applications for programs of study from both domestic and international students who are interested in discipline-specific or interdisciplinary studies.    

The School of Earth, Environment and Society offers a Master of Science degree in Applied Geospatial Science.  This interdisciplinary program will focus on the use of geospatial tools (GIS, remote sensing, GPS) for solving problems in the natural and social sciences, with particular emphasis on energy, broadly defined to include exploration, development, and environmental stewardship as they relate to energy resources.

The degree is designed to prepare students for careers in a wide variety of fields including energy exploration and production, natural resource assessment and development, environmental monitoring and remediation, urban planning, business, and demography.  We welcome students with undergraduate degrees in the sciences, social sciences, and business.
