Curriculum Vitae

Ph.D., University of Virginia, 1998

Professor Musher-Eizenman's research focuses on short-term change in variables that are typically thought of as stable and investigates how meaningful patterns of change may be found and related to outcomes of interest. She has studied the variability in week-to-week perceived environmental control with an elderly sample and showed that those whose weeks varied less had higher chances of survival over a 5-year period. Her current work addresses short-term change in variables related to child and adolescent adjustment. An ongoing project addresses children's weekly attitudes while enrolled in a school-based substance use prevention program to examine whether rapid or slower, cumulative change in attitudes are predictors of healthy behaviors. She applies methods such as dynamic factor analysis and latent growth curve modeling.
