Profile:

Ramune Braziunaite, native of Lithuania, focuses her research on news media and aims at developing an understanding of how the media function to constrict, manipulate, or simply form our attitudes, values, and knowledge about the world. Ramune's dissertation project took a comparative approach to examine news framing of prisoner abuse scandals in Iraq in the U.S. and British media. She applied the constructivist approach to scrutinize the news frames which might have contributed to interpreting the events in a particular manner. Ramune’s other research projects include a study of journalism professionalism, international news coverages and cultural influences on media and organizational life in general. Ramune has presented her research at regional, national, and international conferences. A recent study that Ramune has collaborated with researchers in the USA and India “Organizational dissent and argumentativeness: A comparative analysis between American and Indian organizations” was published in the Journal of Intercultural Communication Research.
