Biography

A lifelong Midwesterner, Dr. Welch began his professional career as a Wellness Coordinator at the University of Michigan Health System. While there, Dr. Welch designed, implemented, and evaluated health promotion programs targeted at faculty and staff wellness. He brings seven years of experience in health and wellness promotion and survey research methods to BGSU. Dr. Welch also has education and experience in business and exercise physiology and is a Master Certified Health Education Specialist. His favorite sports team is the Detroit Red Wings and he regularly attends Bowling Green State University and University of Michigan athletic events.

Research Interests

My research interests include obesity prevention, food security of marginalized populations, survey design, and understanding how public health and medicine can work together to improve population health.
