Dean's Message October 2021

Greetings from the Schmidthorst College of Business!

Our academic year is off to a great start. Students are excited to be back to in-person classes and holding live meetings with student organizations.

The Schmidthorst College Student Ambassadors hosted several student engagement events during the month of September including the following:

·       Student Organization Fair and Dean’s Picnic on the Green

·       Dean’s Guide to Practical Business

·       Dean’s Golf Workshop

·       Advisory Board Meetings

·       Homecoming Tailgate and Maurer Center Tours

Earlier in the month, Women in Business Leadership hosted a memorial service for Paige Redlin, a Schmidthorst student who passed away from cancer last Spring. Many students and faculty attended and honored Paige’s memory. She impacted many lives and will not be forgotten.

The Schmidthorst College is excited to announce the launch of the Alumni & Friends Network, which is a private network for Schmidthorst alumni and friends of the college. Joining the Network includes benefits such as reconnecting with former classmates, finding way to get engaged with the Schmidthorst College, and networking with other alumni. We are excited to announce that E-Week will be held April 18-22. The theme is “Turning Lemons into Lemonade”, and the Entrepreneur-in-Residence is Mark Berman, CEO of Compliglobe. The keynote speaker for the Sebo Series in Entrepreneurship is Tom Morris, bestselling author of Plato’s Lemonade Stand: Stirring Change into Something Great. You can learn more about E-Week here: EWeek2022.

We look forward to continuing our fall semester and updating you all as it goes on.

Warm Regards,

Ray Braun ‘80

Dean
