Remembering Ashik Iqbal

It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Ashik Iqbal, assistant teaching professor in the Department of Management at the Allen W. and Carol M. Schmidthorst College of Business. Ashik of Canton, Michigan, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 2, 2025.

For the past several years Ashik devoted himself to teaching and mentoring students, returning to his alma mater after an accomplished career in the automotive industry. His global experiences and professional expertise enriched his classroom and inspired countless students to pursue excellence.

Known for his kindness and wisdom, Ashik’s life was defined by dedication to education, to his students and most importantly to his family. He earned both his bachelor’s and MBA degrees from BGSU and found great joy in sharing his knowledge and supporting future business leaders.

Beyond his professional achievements Ashik was deeply connected to his faith community and cherished his role as a devoted husband, loving father and doting grandfather.

We extend our deepest condolences to his family and friends and remember his dedication to education and our community.
