Welcome Kurstyn Loeffler – Director, Paul J. Hooker Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership

Kurstyn-Loeffler

Kurstyn Loeffler steps into the role as director of the Paul J. Hooker Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership with a lifelong passion for and expertise in entrepreneurship. She has been involved in the world of entrepreneurship for nearly 20 years, managing a brick-and-mortar retail store after graduating college and then purchasing, owning and operating that business. Simultaneously, she worked as the assistant director of the Family Business Center at the University of Toledo, providing resources and educational opportunities to family and privately held businesses within the community.

Loeffler is delighted to take the reins of the Paul J. Hooker Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership and showcase her passion for entrepreneurship and lifelong learning within that role, at the University level and throughout the community. She stresses the importance of calculated risk and educated experimentation that’s vital to boundary-breaking entrepreneurial endeavors.

"My vision for the Center is to make it more holistic, to go beyond the classroom and into the community," Loeffler said. "We will engage business owners –- in Bowling Green, across Ohio and nationally –- to create a pipeline of resources for BGSU students and for business owners struggling to find talent."

"The Center will also focus on the importance of the entrepreneurial mindset. You don’t need to be a start-up company for entrepreneurship to apply to you. Creative problem solving, identifying opportunities and adaptation are crucial to success – whether an entrepreneur, a teacher, an engineer – your degree doesn’t matter. Entrepreneurial thinking will set you apart, and the center is integral in teaching this to the BGSU population and beyond."
