Beware of Fake Party Ticket Scams on Social Media

Information Technology Services (ITS) has received reports of fake BGSU party and event promotions circulating on social media. These posts advertise events that don't exist and ask students to pay for tickets using debit cards or payment apps. After payment, the "seller" disappears, and there is no event or refund.

We recommend researching the event prior to sending money. Be cautious of events that can't be verified through an official organization or venue. Purchasing tickets through social media is always at your own risk. Taking a few minutes to verify the event could save you from losing money.
