Qualifications/Preferred Skills: Enrolled in Masters Degree Program, Organization and Communication Skills, Experience Working in a Higher Education Setting or Event Planning Setting (Undergraduate Experience Applicable)
Position Description: The Residential Engagement Graduate Intern focuses on Residence Life event planning, large-scale campus programming, and student engagement initiatives that enhance the residential student experience. This Master’s-level graduate intern provides 20 hours of service weekly, with additional hours required during peak programming periods. The intern supports residential engagement efforts, major university events, and student leadership development while assisting the Office of Student Engagement and Residence Life in meeting departmental goals.
Major Responsibilities Include Residence Life Event Planning & Engagement Plan, coordinate, and execute Residential Programming that aligns with the values and mission of the Office of student Engagement and Residence Life. Partners to align programs with student needs and residential learning goals. Provide on-site event support, logistics coordination, and post-event follow-up for residential and campus programs Advising and Student Support
Provide programmatic guidance, event feedback, and developmental support to student leaders Co-manage Falcons After Dark Late-Night Programming as an engagement opportunity for residential students Major University Event Execution Assist in advising, planning, and executing large-scale annual events, including:
- Family Weekend
- Rally BG
- Homecoming
- Week of Welcome
- Residence Life signature programs
Support event logistics such as space coordination, vendor communication, risk management, and student staff coordination Law, Policy, and Governance
Apply university policies, laws, and best practices to residential and campus event planning. Support risk management processes for Residence Life programming. Ensure events and vendor partnerships align with university guidelines. Assessment, Evaluation, and Research. Assess residential and campus programs for participation, engagement, and learning outcomes. Use assessment data to improve future Residence Life and engagement initiatives. Student Learning and Development. Support student leaders in building skills in event planning, leadership, and community engagement.
Help implement educational curriculum related to programming, leadership development, and residential community building. Leadership.
Foster leadership development among student programmers and residential student leaders through mentorship, event support, and member development.
