Eligible Program Applicants (Applicants will preferably be from one of the following graduate programs):  

  • Graduate students from any program in the College of Arts and Sciences are eligible.

Qualifications/Preferred Skills: 

  • Ability to implement innovative marketing and communications strategies, with preferred experience in graphic design, social media content creation, and/or social media analytics.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with BGSU undergraduate students, international students, and faculty/staff affiliated with International Studies (including Asian Studies).
  • Effective written and oral communication skills for general audiences.
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to manage projects and organize/plan events independently and in a collaborative team environment.
  • Ability to complete other duties as assigned.

Position Description: 

Under the direction of the Director of International Studies, the GA in this position will:

  • Promote and coordinate events, workshops, and gatherings sponsored by International studies, Asian studies, and/or the Global Village learning community.
  • Promote the International Studies majors and minors, such as through attendance at campus-wide events, classroom visits, or other opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the Director to carry out marketing initiatives that align with BGSU Canva platform and Marketing & Brand Strategy guidelines.
  • Implement design skills for event flyers, course promotion, and other marketing initiatives.
  • Implement technological skills and content creation skills to contribute to the International Studies social media presence.
