  • Chemistry, MS
  • Master of Health Service Administration, MHSA
  • Human Movement Sport Leisure Studies, MEd

Additional program applicants will be considered based on qualifications and preferred skills.

Qualifications/Preferred Skills: 

Applicants must have completed previous coursework in human nutrition, introductory nutrition, or a comparable nutrition course. Successful candidates should demonstrate strong verbal and written communication, organization, time management, professionalism, reliability, and the ability to work effectively with faculty and students. Candidates should be sensitive to diverse learning styles and student needs, able to complete weekly grading and course responsibilities on time, and available to attend scheduled class sessions and faculty debriefings. The position requires maintaining the confidentiality and security of course materials, assessments, answer keys, and student information. Previous experience as a BGSU Learning Assistant or in a similar academic support role (tutor, teaching assistant, peer educator) is preferred but not required. Familiarity with FN 2070, Introduction to Human Nutrition course content, Canvas, active learning strategies, and approaches for supporting students with study skills, organization, and time management is also preferred.

Position Description:  

FN 2070 Teaching Assistants assist faculty with tasks that strengthen undergraduate student learning through active, subject-specific strategies. Duties may include supporting class objectives, facilitating learning activities, providing academic guidance, and connecting students with university resources when appropriate.
