Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • Must be admitted to and maintain enrollment in the College Student Personnel graduate program.
  • Must be willing and able to work approximately 20 hours per week.
  • Ability to travel with the team; travel is expected.
  • Competitive diving experience and/or prior coaching experience preferred.
  • American Red Cross Lifeguarding and CPR Certification preferred, or must obtain certification within 30 days of hire.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations or willingness to learn and adhere to them.
  • Commitment to supporting the academic and personal development of student-athletes.

Position Description:  The Graduate Assistant for Diving and Operations supports the daily operations of the swimming and diving program with a special emphasis on the development and management of the diving team. This position provides hands-on coaching support during practices and competitions, while also assisting with administrative and operational functions that help ensure the program runs efficiently. The Graduate Assistant will work closely with the head coach and the diving coach to support student-athlete development, team logistics, and program organization.

Essential Duties and Tasks:

  • Assist with the planning and execution of daily diving practices and workouts.
  • Provide technical instruction and feedback to student-athletes to support skill
    development and performance improvement.
  • Assist with meet preparation, competition management, and on-deck coaching
    during diving events.
  • Help coordinate team travel logistics, including itineraries, equipment, and meet
    schedules.
  • Support recruiting efforts during campus visits, in accordance with NCAA and MAC
    regulations.
  • Assist with program operations including equipment management, facility
    coordination, and practice setup.
  • Maintain accurate records related to training, competition results, and program
    needs.
  • Support administrative tasks such as scheduling, communication, and organization
    of team materials.
  • Ensure video technology (PoolSide Live) is fully functioning for each practice in the
    diving dryland room.
  • Represent the program in a positive and professional manner within the department
    and community.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the head coach
