Qualifications/Preferred Skills:  

  • Previous experience in data visualization with business intelligence software such as Power BI.
  • Intermediate or Advanced experience with Excel. Intermediate level R, Python, and SQL. Familiarity with SPSS, STATA, Qualtrics, Dedoose, or similar software.
  • Knowledge of and experience in statistics and data analysis is required. Knowledge of machine learning is preferred.
  • Experience using data to analyze and improve student learning, curriculum, and program improvement, or other key performance indicators.
  • Experience with independent research and strong writing skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, take directions, and focus on very detailed work is essential.
  • Demonstrate initiative and creative approaches to problem solving.  
  • Demonstrate proactive communication skills, a collaborative mindset, ability to adapt to goals and tlines, and a willingness to learn.
  • Administrative and organizational skills.

Position Description:  The research assistant (RAII) position will provide a graduate student with the opportunity to collaborate on research projects concerning key performance indicators, quality assurance, analytics, and accreditation. Candidates must be
able to work with confidential data. Training on software and data files will be provided.

Primary responsibilities include

  • Project development and testing including Power BI reports, statistical analysis, supervised and unsupervised machine learning, and user experience (UX) using Power BI, Excel, SQL, R, Python, etc.
  • Work with multiple data sets (prepare data files for analysis, including standardization, enhancements, and editing) and manage databases.
  • Data collection, analysis, and reporting of assessment and learning outcomes data using software such as Qualtrics, Excel, SPSS, STATA, R, Python, and Dedoose.
  • Document workflows and develop user guides.
  • Provide support for the Office of Assessment, Accreditation, and Analytics.
