Why consider an internship

An internship is a powerful way to get industry experience – and may turn into a full-time position after graduation.

We host job fairs and networking events throughout the school year to help students find internships and meet industry titans. To learn about upcoming events, reach out to a professor, the Kuhlin Hub or a leader in your student organization.

Education abroad

Studying abroad is one of the best ways for marketing students to stand out in a competitive field and make your resume shine. Experiencing global markets firsthand helps you understand consumer behavior, branding and communication across cultures – skills every successful marketer needs.

Plus, you’ll grow personally as you navigate new environments and cultures.

Student organizations

Explore new interests, enhance your resume and develop new skills – such as leadership, teamwork and networking – by joining a marketing or another business student organization.

Student competitions

  • Sales competition: Students of all majors go head-to-head in the annual BGSU Sales Competition. They showcase their sales skills and compete for cash prizes and the chance to advance to the national competition.
  • The Hatch: The Hatch is an annual business plan competition that allows students to put their entrepreneur skills to the test. Students apply in the fall and work with a mentor throughout the academic year to conceptualize a business idea and refine their pitch. Select students present their pitch at a live competition in the spring.
