Kwadwo T. Amankwah
Mr. Kwadwo T. Amankwah, popularly known as KT, is a certified public accountant (active Ohio license). Before joining Bowling Green State University, he served on the faculty at Ohio Dominican University for six years, where he also led the accounting program. As a student adviser, he mentored and advised more than 200 students during his time at Ohio Dominican.
Previously, Amankwah taught accounting and economics as an adjunct professor at Strayer University in Columbus, Ohio, and economics at Columbus State Community College. He also served as an assistant lecturer at Excelsior Community College in Kingston, Jamaica.
He holds a Master of Science in accounting from the University of Akron, a Master of Public Health in biostatistics from Ohio State University, and a Master of Science in economics from the University of the West Indies, Mona, Jamaica. He earned a Bachelor of Science in administration (management option) from the University of Ghana, Legon, Accra. He is currently pursuing a Doctor of Business Administration with a concentration in accounting at Liberty University.
Amankwah has more than 15 years of experience teaching accounting at both undergraduate and graduate levels. He enjoys teaching financial accounting, managerial accounting and taxation courses, including those in MBA programs.
He also brings more than a decade of corporate experience, having worked for U.S. multinational corporations such as International Paper, Greif Inc. and OhioHealth. He served as a research statistician for the Oklahoma State Department of Health in Oklahoma City.
Amankwah is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Ohio Society of CPAs (membership pending renewal). He has participated in professional and academic workshops and seminars, presented to corporate executives and trained junior accountants during his time in industry.
He received the 2023 Conley Award for Outstanding Teaching (Faculty of the Year) from Ohio Dominican University.
