Professor Emeritus of Economics Passes Away

We are sad to announce that Dr. Bevars DuPré Mabry, 91, professor emeritus of economics, passed away October 1 in Toledo. He was the former chair of the Department of Economics and taught at BGSU from 1959-95. During his tenure Dr. Mabry was instrumental in developing and expanding the department and mentoring new faculty. As a Rockefeller Foundation Grantee, Dr. Mabry was a Visiting Professor of Economics at Thammasat University in Bangkok, Thailand from 1967-1968 and again from 1971-1973. He is survived by his wife, Mary, associate professor emeritus of art at BGSU, and both were among the pioneers in the field of Economics of the Arts.
