BGSU celebrates the voice for World Voice Day
BOWLING GREEN, O.––Bowling Green State University will observe 2012 World Voice Day, an international celebration of the voice, on Monday, April 16, with this year’s theme, “Make Your Voice Count.”
The BGSU program, scheduled from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. in 202B Bowen-Thompson Student Union, is open to the public and will feature free vocal health screenings, information about vocal health and musical entertainment by students from the College of Musical Arts.
Speech-language pathology graduate students, who are supervised by licensed, certified speech-language pathologists, will provide the free vocal health screenings from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 1:30-4:45 p.m. Additionally, information will be available about vocal health.
A variety of vocalists from the College of Musical Arts will demonstrate the power and beauty of the voice when they perform from 12:30-1:30 p.m. Visitors may participate in the free screenings and/or come to listen to the musical performances.
The celebration is sponsored by the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders, BGSU Speech and Hearing Clinic, College of Health and Human Services, College of Musical Arts and the Center of Excellence in Health and Wellness Across the Lifespan.
