Devine Honors Fellows Scholarship
The Honors Learning Community Fellows are student leaders who volunteer their time to support programming, events, and assisting during trips provided through the Honors Learning Community (HLC). This scholarship will cover the full cost of learning community fees for Fellows. Our goal is to raise $25,000 over the next five years so all HLC Fellows will be supported.
M. Neil Browne Student Enrichment Fund
Experiential learning and critical thinking are two of the core pilars of the BGSU Honors College Experience. This fund provides resources to Honors faculty members to provide experiential learning to BGSU Honors students. Such experiences may include attendance at a theater or concert perforamnce, support of invited speakers, museum archive visits, attendance at community cultural events, etc. These experiences bring our students into the community and allow them to practice critical thinking in the real world, setting them to stand out and success upon graduation.
The Honors College hopes to raise $50,000 over the next five years. This will allow us to fund $5,000 worth of projects annually.
Alumni Laureate Scholarship (30000756)
The Alumni Laureate Scholarship currently covers the cost of any educational expenses up to the cost of full-time in-state undergraduate tuition, for eight uninterrupted fall and spring semesters, and includes a $1,000 book award each year. Receipt of the scholarship is contingent upon continuously meeting program criteria and expectations as set by the Program Advisor.
The program allows students to take part in leadership workshops, community engagement activities, and meetings with university, community and alumni leaders and volunteers. The ALS program also includes cohort meetings and regular interaction with the Honors College staff and program adviser. Criteria for the scholarship include:
Applicants must be incoming, first-time students enrolled at BGSU who demonstrate a commitment to leadership and community service. Applicants must also:
- 3.5 cumulative high school GPA on a 4.0 scale
- 27 ACT composite or 1280 SAT
- Must be admitted to BGSU and complete a separate Honors College application by Nov 15 with ACT/SAT test scores and official high school transcript.
Carrie J. Dulin Memorial Scholarship (301777)
Carrie J. Dulin, an Honors alumna from 1993-1997, was a member of the Tuition Raffle Committee, served as its chair, and was very active in both the Honors College and the Honors Student Association. After graduating, Ms. Dulin joined the Peace Corps in Armenia and unexpectedly died before beginning her job with Medicines Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders) as a project manager in Nigeria.
This scholarship was created to honor the memory of Ms. Dulin and provide financial support for two students who are following in the footsteps of this dedicated alumna. In addition to their demonstrated academic achievement, applicants should be civically engaged citizens who foster social change and community cohesion through their service to the community.
Davidson-Regan Study Abroad Scholarship (302840)
The Davidson-Regan Study Abroad Scholarship was established with the Honors College to continue the important work of helping to broaden students' reach in the world through travel abroad. To be eligible a student must be accepted for a study abroad course or program approved by BGSU and must have worked with the Honors College to structure the experience. Preference will be given to students who express a specific interest in pursuing a Fulbright Fellowship. The application includes completion of supplemental questions about your study abroad planning and considerations.
Hoskins (302257)
BGSU graduate Mike Hoskins, class of ‘77, recognizes the importance of international engagement if students are to understand today’s diverse and connected world. In order to be marketable to employers upon graduation, students need to participate in international experiential learning to gain new skills, new perspectives, and new immersive experiences. The Hoskins Global Scholars Program will provide $5000 for up to 3 students per year to participate in a 3-4 week international experience during Summer, to a country that is not native to the student. One award is available in each of the three categories: Social Sciences and Humanities, Sciences, and Professions.
J. Robert Bashore Scholarship (300100)
The Bashore Scholarships were started in 1983 and are given in honor of a former University professor and Director of the Honors College, J. Robert Bashore.
The Bashore Scholarships seek to reward students with outstanding academic records who have demonstrated curiosity about ideas beyond the narrow limits of one discipline. In accordance with the goals of the Honors College, the scholarships recognize students who actively pursue a liberal education by enrolling in a variety of courses and participating in a variety of extracurricular activities.
Joseph C. Weger Family Honors Scholarship (302810)
Created in 2021, the Weger Honors Scholarship provides financial aid to students who are interested in engaging data. To be eligible a student must be an undergraduate in the Honors College, with 3.5 minimum GPA, have completed 20 Honors credits, earning A’s or B’s in each class and study data sciences, analytics or computational science discipline as defined by Honors College.
Preference to majors of computer science, software engineering, applied statistics and operations research, business analytics and intelligence, information systems or equivalent future majors. Preference given to students who are pursuing or on track to complete their Honors project
Mayeaux (300442)
Patricia Gangwer Mayeux, a long-time employee at the University, has created an endowment, the income from which is used to fund prizes to be given annually to that year's best Honors Projects.
McGranaghan (302543)
The Michael and Mary Lee McGranaghan Academic Excellence Scholarship was established in 2015 by Michael and Mary Lee McGranaghan. Criteria for the scholarship include:
- Incoming first-year student
- Be a declared Schmidthorst College of Business major declared on BGSU application for admission
- Demonstrate outstanding leadership ability
- Be in the top 10% of high school senior class
- Completed application for admission on file by November 15
- Completed application submitted to the Honors College by November 15
- Note the recipients of this scholarship are in the top 10% of BGSU's students, and so typically have an ACT of 30 or above or a 1390* SAT [Evidence-Based Reading and Writing]
Dr. Michael R. and Janice B. Ferrari Scholarship (302233)
Established in the fall of 2020, the Dr. Michael R. and Janice B. Ferrari Scholarship provides financial assistance for business majors that are in Honors. Students must have demonstrated leadership in activities, strong academics, and also have financial need. This is a renewable scholarship for up to 4 years if the student continues to qualify.
Sage A. Rucci Endowed Honors Scholarship (302850)
Established in fall of 2021, the Sage A. Rucci Scholarship recognizes the academic achievement of Honors students who are majoring in Art who have demonstrated financial need. Preference given to historically underrepresented students.
Tabacco-Schmidt Scholarship (302854)
Created in 2022, the Tabacco-Schmidt Scholarship provides financial assistance to high-performing students with significant financial need, with the goal of helping students complete their degree. To be eligible a student must be in good standing with the Honors College, must demonstrate high financial need as determined by the FAFSA, be a current resident of the state of Ohio, be a rising third or fourth year undergraduate, and preference is given to first generation college students. Students with DACA status may also be eligible with a completed FAFSA. The application includes submission of a short essay and finalists will be interviewed as part of the selection process.
Tom Klein Scholarship (301635)
The Tom Klein Scholarship was started in 2006 to provide scholarships for upper class Honors students who have shown striking examples of community leadership and service within and outside the Honors College. In addition, candidates should demonstrate outstanding commitment to their community, financial need and academic excellence.
HLC Engagement (302441)
The Honors Learning Community (HLC) Engagement Scholarship was established by members of the Honors College Leadership Council to provide annual awards to HLC members who demonstrate potential as leaders within the community and who wish to live in the Honors Learning Community.
The Buss Family Scholarship (302626)
The purpose of this scholarship is to provide support for a first generation, incoming first year student in Honors
General Honors College Scholarship Fund (302547)
This fund provides general scholarships to individual students and to support other Honors scholarships, as needed.

Honors College Program Fund (52300547)
Provide general support to the Honors College for Collective Dialogue (formely Great Ideas), conference attendance, alumni events, study abroad, Honors projects and a variety of new initiatives.
Honors Learning Community Fund (52302441)
Provide general support to the Honors Learning Community for student field trips, book discussions, and general programming.
