Bio

Dr. Mackenzie Grace received her Ph.D. in Sociology with a focus in Criminology from Bowling Green State University. She earned both her M.S. and B.S. in Criminal Justice from Wayne State University. Dr. Grace joined the BGSU faculty in 2022. Her research interests include understanding the role of relationships and family in criminal involvement, with particular attention to experiences of intimate partner violence. She also has interests in corrections and reentry from incarceration.

 
Dr. Grace currently serves as the Criminal Justice Internship Coordinator, where she supports students as they secure internship placements and throughout their internship experience. She also serves as the faculty advisor for the Criminal Justice Student Association. Dr. Grace is happy to support undergraduate students interested in research opportunities, independent study, or Honors projects.

Dr. Grace teaches a variety of courses, including:

  • CRJU 3400: Drugs, Crime, & Criminal Justice 

  • CRJU 4800: Senior Seminar in Criminal Justice

  • CRJU 4910/4920: Internship & Internship Seminar

In her free time, Dr. Grace enjoys spending time with her family, gardening, and exploring the outdoors.
