Make-up & Proctored Testing

The BGSU Firelands Testing Center provides secure test-proctoring services for all qualifying students. Priority scheduling is given to students who receive academic accommodations through BGSU Accessibility Services for extended test time or a space with limited distractions. When scheduling testing appointments, students must indicate the approved accommodations they intend to use so the Testing Center can ensure availability. Students that wish to utilize accommodations they have been granted should inform their instructor to ensure those accommodations are noted on the test cover in the instructions to the Testing Center proctor. Other requests for exam proctoring are handled individually (i.e. make-up exams, placement exams). 

Proctored testing for students with accommodation(s) is available by appointment. To arrange an appointment, please complete the following steps. 

1. Arrange with your professor to take the exam and remind them of your accommodation(s) (if applicable). Learn if your professor will provide your approved accommodation(s) or if you will need to schedule with the Testing Center. If you will be coming to the Testing Center for the exam, you will need to know when you are allowed to take the exam. Your professor may have requirements on the date(s) or time(s) that you will be permitted to take the exam. Exam proctoring hours are listed above. All exams must be completed within operating hours. 
2. Schedule at least 72 hours in advance of the time you wish to make your appointment. You may schedule by contacting fire-testcenter@bgsu.edu or calling 419-372-0705. 
3. Communicate your appointment booking with your professor. They will provide the Testing Center with your exam and exam instructions prior to the exam. They will receive an email from the Testing Center as well requesting this information. 
4. Respond to any correspondence from the Testing Center regarding your appointment. We may have additional questions or have specific information to relay to you. 
5. Bring your BGSU student ID or other photo identification. Please be sure to arrive promptly for your appointment. The end of your appointment cannot be extended without the instructor’s approval.

Other requests for exam proctoring are handled on a case-by-case basis (i.e. make-up exams, Math Placement exams), but in nearly all instances we can accommodate your proctoring needs.
