Management Scholarships

The Department of Management awards over 50 scholarships each year totaling more than $40,000.

Individual scholarship awards vary from $250 to $1500 and are determined by the Department of Management Scholarship Committee to best match applicants to varying donor requests.  Therefore, students do not need to select specific scholarships in their application.

Criteria

APICS & R.J. Penlesky Scholarship

Award amount: Variable based on accrued interest

Rising sophomores, juniors, seniors; full-time student enrolled in the CBA with specialization in Supply Chain Management; Overall minimum GPA 3.0; Active membership/involvement in BGSU’s student APICS chapter; renewable if student continues to meet criteria

Chan and Young Hahn Freshman Scholarships

Award amount: variable based upon availability of funds

Student in CBA with a specialization in International Business, Management, and/or Supply Chain Management; minimum GPA 3.0; freshman standing

Counterman Management Scholarship

Award amount: $500 - $1,000 (variable based on fund balance)

Rising sophomore; declared Supply Chain Management for upcoming fall semester; in good academic standing; exhibit high academic achievement with a minimum GPA of 3.5; have demonstrated work experience and/or extracurricular involvement

Department of Management Scholarships

Award amount: $250 - $500; amount and number of scholarships awarded are variable based upon donors and availability of funds

Student in CBA with a specialization in International Business, Management, and/or Supply Chain Management; minimum GPA 3.0; incoming freshmen, rising freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors

Geoffrey and Linda Radbill Scholarship in Management

Award amount: variable based on spendable income

Management  major; rising sophomore, junior or senior; overall GPA 2.75 and minimum GPA of 3.0 in management coursework; must possess and exhibit leadership traits in on or off campus activities, involved in community activities, and show philanthropic volunteerism; financial need (renewable as long as current or past recipients submit another application and continue to meet all criteria)

Award amount: variable based on spendable income

Supply Chain Management  major; rising sophomore, junior or senior; overall GPA 2.75 and minimum GPA of 3.0 in supply chain management coursework; must possess and exhibit leadership traits in on or off campus activities, involved in community activities, and show philanthropic volunteerism; financial need (renewable as long as current or past recipients submit another application and continue to meet all criteria)

John B. Blevins Business Scholarship

Award amount: $500

Student in CBA who has declared International Business or Supply Chain Management; sophomore, junior or senior class standing; Minimum GPA 3.0; demonstrate financial need as indicated by FASFA; first preference given to student who is working part-time to support his/her college education (renewable for one year if recipient continues to meet criteria and reapplies)

Karl & Doris Rahdert Scholarship

Award amount: Variable based on spendable income

Undergraduate student in CBA who has declared International Business, Management and/or Supply Chain Management; Overall minimum GPA 3.0; involvement in campus community; displays leadership in classroom/community

Karl & Joan Vogt Award

Award amount: $250 - $500; amount variable based upon donors and availability of funds

Student in CBA with a specialization in International Business, Management, and/or Supply Chain Management; minimum GPA 3.0; incoming freshmen, rising freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors

Marathon Petroleum Scholarship in Supply Chain Management

Award amount: $500 - $1,500

Pursuing degree with intent of working in energy industry; overall minimum GPA 3.0; eligible to work full-time in US on an indefinite basis

NAPM Pharmaceutical Scholarship

Award amount: Variable based on available fund balance

Full-time rising junior or senior who is officially enrolled in the CBA; declared specialization in Supply Chain Management; Minimum GPA 3.0; evidence leadership through campus or community involvement

Outstanding Senior Awards

Award amount: variable based upon availability of funds

Student in CBA with a specialization in International Business, Management, or Supply Chain Management; must have senior status and graduating in May, minimum GPA 3.0. Award offered to a student(s) in each specialization who has demonstrated leadership in student professional organizations, campus or community organizations; relevant co-op/internship; positive contribution to BGSU’s program and reputation

Scott Supply Chain Management Scholarship

Award amount: Variable based on spendable income

Full-time undergraduate student in CBA declared in Supply Chain Management; overall minimum GPA 3.0; demonstrates leadership potential, ambition and other indicators of a willingness to persist in a diligent effort to achieve a goal (non-renewable)

Supply Chain Management Institute Corporate Partnership Scholarships

Award amount: $500 - $1000; amount and number of scholarships awarded are based upon donations from current SCMI members and donors. Current SCMI corporate partners are: Advanced Drainage Systems, Bendix, CACI, Diebold Inc., Emerson Climate Technologies, Exel, Expeditors, First Energy, First Solar, Honda, John Deere, Magna-Norplas Ind., Marathon, Matco Tools, Nordson Corp., Owens Corning, Parker Hannifin, Swagelok, Therma-Tru and XPO Logistics Co.

Student in CBA with a specialization in International Business, Management, and/or Supply Chain Management; minimum GPA 3.0; incoming freshmen, rising freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors; first preference given to Supply Chain Management majors.

Thomas Lammers Book Award

Award amount: Variable based on available fund balance

Undergraduate student in CBA; demonstrates financial need as determined by FASFA; entering freshman, sophomore, junior or senior, in good academic standing; demonstrate an interest in the field of Logistics and Transportation and/or Supply Chain Management

Warren &  Thelma Waterhouse Scholarship

Award amount: Variable

Rising senior; student in CBA who has declared International Business, Management and/or Supply Chain Management; scholastic achievement, character and leadership ability

*Note that this table addresses the renewed scholarships and are part of the scholarship application process that begins in January. At any time throughout the year, an individual and/or company may gift additional dollars to the Department of Management to use for student scholarships. When this occurs, the Department of Management typically includes these in the January award process for current students specializing in International Business, Management and/or Supply Chain Management who have a minimum GPA of 3.0.
