BGSU United Way Campaign, Creating Public Good

United Way Campaign

Dear BGSU Employee,

It is our pleasure to announce the kickoff of the 2023 United Way Campaign with Northwest Ohio Community Shares.

In the last year, thousands of our neighbors, families, and friends called United Way 211 to be connected to community resources. Over 1,000 individuals in need of emergency housing services called into 211. Your gift to United Way helps provide resources to those facing homelessness, struggling with violence in the home, or dealing with the devastation and displacement of a fire or flood.

In Wood County, 35% of families in Wood County are experiencing poverty or are unable to meet their basic needs? These are families who they struggle to make ends meet. With rising costs of household necessities, families are forced to make tough choices - between paying rent, putting food on the table, or buying school supplies for their children.

Your contribution to United Way changes lives by focusing on the building blocks for a good life: expanding education, growing financial stability, providing housing, and improving health.

You have the option to direct your gift to the United Way or Northwest Ohio Community Shares agency of your choice. United Way also offers you the opportunity to write-in any local, health and human service non-profit agency that does not appear in the printed options.

On behalf of President Rodney Rogers, the President’s Cabinet, and the various employee leadership groups on campus, I thank you in advance for your willingness to support our efforts to assist the many adults, children, and others who rely so heavily on the good work accomplished by United Way and Northwest Ohio Community Shares.

Sincerely,

Jacob E. Clemens, Ph.D.
2023 United Way Campaign Chair
