College Welcomes New Board Members

The College of Business is pleased to announce the appointment of five new members to the College’s Leadership Council and Young Alumni Board.  The Leadership Council is comprised of successful alumni who advise the dean on curricula, alumni affairs, student mentorship, internships and co-ops, job placement and faculty engagement with industry. The Young Alumni Board is comprised of successful alumni who also advise the dean and have graduated within the last 15 years.

Matthew FrinziMatthew Frinzi ’74

Founder & Director, PowerVision

Matthew has forty years in the medical device industry including nine years in the cataract surgery market with the IOLAB division of Johnson & Johnson. He is the Founder of PowerVision, a device company developing an accommodating intraocular lens to treat presbyopia and to restore the vision associated with youth.  Matthew also serves on the board of directors for PowerVision.
 
Matthew was Vice President of Sales for Circon Corporation, a leading manufacturer of instrumentation for minimally invasive surgery as well as VP, Sales & Marketing for Indigo Medical, a laser-based urology company which was acquired by Johnson & Johnson.
 
This successful entrepreneur has significant experience with start-up ventures and has either led or held senior management positions in several ventures that achieved exits via acquisition. Matthew was the CEO of Circulation, Inc. a cardiovascular venture that was acquired by Transvascular/Medtronic.

Edward LeedomEdward Leedom ’89

Senior Vice President, Harbor Funds Distributors, Inc.

Ed started his career with Harbor Capital Advisors, Inc. in 1989 and held various positions in the sales/marketing area from 1989-1996.  From 1997-2001, Ed was regional marketing director in the Great Lakes Region for First Mercantile Trust Company.

Ed rejoined Harbor Capital Advisors, Inc. in 2001.  As a senior vice president of Harbor Funds Distributors, Ed’s responsibilities include developing and maintaining new and existing institutional client relations in the Lower Midwest region as well as managing internal sales support activities. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in 1989.

David HainlineDavid Hainline ’83

CEO – CSI

David brings diverse experience to his role as CEO of CSI-Florida. As owner of CSI-DC, the award winning sister company that CSI-Florida is modeled after, David ensures consistency in what clients can expect in either destination. CSI continues to expand with new offices in The Virgin Islands, soon to open in Texas and in a joint partnership in The Bahamas. David resides in Key West, Florida and is strategically positioned to serve client needs in the area as only a local resident can!

He has always had a passion for results. Formerly, he spent 16 years in the broadcasting industry, where he sold and managed national accounts totaling over 12 million dollars for Infinity Broadcasting. David has served in a leadership capacity within many prestigious associations throughout the hospitality industry.

David was a member of the Leadership Committee of the Professional Conference Management Association, served on the Annual Meeting Committee of the Healthcare Convention & Exhibitors Association, chaired the Marketing Committee of the DMC Network, and sat on the Tourism Committee of the Washington, D.C. Convention & Tourism Corporation (now Destination DC).

David was a recipient of the 2006 Accomplished Graduate Award for the College of Arts and Sciences. He also served on the Alumni Board.

Michel E. NouafoMichel E. Nouafo ‘87

Vice President of International Household Sales for Vitamix

Michel’s origins and experience give him a rich and diverse cultural and professional background.  Born and schooled in Cameroon, Michel moved to France and then the U.S. for his college education.  He graduated with an MBA in International Business from Bowling Green State University.  Following his education, he worked as a business consultant and a financial planner prior to joining Libbey Glass as an export sales manager.

Michel held various positions at Libbey before he was promoted to the position of Vice-President, International Markets.  While working at Libbey, Michel also taught international marketing classes at The University of Toledo.  Michel joined Vitamix in early 2011 and has been charged with helping the company grow its International Household business.  Michel and his family reside in Solon, OH (a suburb of Cleveland) where they enjoy the great family environment and surroundings.

Trevor BischoffNew Young Alumni Board Member

Trevor Bischoff ’14

Consultant, Deloitte

Trevor primarily works with large banks and insurance companies regarding regulatory and compliance. Specializing in business analytics and intelligence, Trevor helps financial firms navigate the ever-evolving climate of regulation of capital and risk within the U.S. and around the world. Trevor currently resides in Cleveland, Ohio.

Trevor was honored with the Karl Vogt Outstanding Senior Award and he was the first graduate at BGSU to earn a business degree with four specializations – finance, accounting, applied economics and business analytics and intelligence. For Fantasy Football fans, Trevor has had fun using his analytical and data mining skills to create a highly-regarded, free variable model to predict NFL games.  To learn more about his football prediction model, click here.
