‘Seussical,’ the musical, coming to BGSU Firelands

Caryl Crane Youth Theatre (CCYT) at BGSU Firelands College opens its 2014-15 season with the family musical “Seussical.” From Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty, the team who created “Once on This Island,” comes a whimsical musical that weaves together Dr. Seuss's most famous tales.

Seuss's stories have taught tolerance, peace and the value of dignity to generations of kids — that "a person's a person, no matter how small" — in fun and captivating ways. A heartwarming, kid-friendly story that also won't insult an adult's intelligence, “Seussical” is a show for adults and children alike. Rated G, the play is recommended for children ages 3 and up.

Featuring a cast of 60 from 16 area schools, “Seussical” is directed by CCYT Artistic Director Brian Marshall, and plays on the McBride Auditorium stage in the North Building on the BGSU Firelands campus. Performances are at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 5, 6, 11, 12 and 13, and at 2 p.m. Sept. 7 and 14.

All seats are under $15 and can be purchased by calling the Sandusky State Theatre central ticketing office at 419-626-1950 or online.
