Allison M. Martin

Dr. Martin is an invested and dedicated educator. Her love for teaching human gross anatomy, neuroscience and health condition coursework has grown from her diverse career experiences in health professional settings and graduate medical education programs.

She earned a master’s degree in clinical exercise physiology from Northeastern University in Boston and a bachelor’s degree in health and exercise science from Gettysburg College in Pennsylvania. As an exercise physiologist, she worked with patients and clients in medical exercise programs, geriatric exercise research studies and community health programs.

Since 2015, Martin has been an Instructor of human gross anatomy for medical and health professional programs and a leader of gross anatomy dissection labs and coursework. She completed her Ph.D. in anatomical education at Lincoln Memorial University in 2023. Her dissertation focused on students’ preparation for clinical rotations, specifically with performing clinical procedures.

Martin is thrilled to join the BGSU Doctor of Occupational Therapy program as an assistant clinical professor. With a strong belief in lifelong learning, Martin aims to support our OTD students in their foundational coursework through effective teaching practices and scholarship.

Martin’s areas of scholarship interest include:
