Biography
Dr. Welch began his professional career as a Personal Trainer and Wellness Coordinator at the University of Michigan Health System. While there, Dr. Welch designed, implemented, and evaluated health promotion programs to help improve faculty and staff wellness. He has 20 years of experience in health promotion, survey research methods, and higher education. Dr. Welch's favorite sports team is the Detroit Red Wings and he enjoys attending Bowling Green State University athletic events and concerts.

Research Interests
My research interests include obesity prevention, food security of marginalized populations, survey design, and understanding how public health and medicine can work together to improve population health.
