Bio

Dr. Kerri Knippen is an Associate Professor of Food and Nutrition and Graduate Program Coordinator at Bowling Green State University. She applies her clinical and research expertise to advance nutrition care in diabetes and maternal health. She has led multisite studies on gestational diabetes and postpartum care planning, developed a virtual nutrition clinic and diabetes prevention program, and teaches medical nutrition therapy, community nutrition, and special topics courses focused on diabetes and nutrition communication. A Fellow of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and Board Certified in Advanced Diabetes Management (BC-ADM), she has completed the Academy’s Leadership Institute and received honors including the Abbott Nutrition Award in Women’s Health and Ohio Recognized Dietitian of the Year.

Research Interests

Dr. Knippen’s research interests include diabetes, pregnancy, breastfeeding, translation of evidence-based guidelines to practice, implementation science.
