Title: Program Director, Assistant Clinical Professor

Mini Biography: Dr. Carolyn Hosenfeld is the Program Director for the Medical Laboratory Science programs and an Assistant Clinical Professor at BGSU within the public and allied health department. Her career as an MLS began in Columbus, OH, where she worked for a number of years in a large laboratory, focusing on the areas of hematology, hemostasis, and body fluid analysis.  She became a clinical preceptor for area MLS and MLT programs and fell in love with teaching the medical laboratory sciences and working with students. In addition to her MLS certification, she also received her Specialist in Hematology certification from the American Society for Clinical Pathology. Dr. Hosenfeld still works PRN in the northwest Ohio area as a generalist.

Dr. Hosenfeld’s areas of interest include hematology, hemostasis, body fluid analysis, and epidemiology.
