Street Smart Engine and Truck Company Operations - 3 Day Class

Description

The Street Smart Engine and Truck Operations class is an intense 3 day hands on class, using both props and acquired structures to hone your fire ground skills. Students will rotate through multiple realistic skills stations that will give you the knowledge, confidence, and abilities to safely and effectively operate in multiple positions on the fire ground.  Whether you want to hone your truck skills, or brush up on stretching and flowing lines, the skills stations offered in this class will, without a doubt, improve your performance when operating on the fire ground. These street proven methods are sure to elevate your performance in the essential truck company functions, as well as while operating in multiple engine company positions. You will find the best of both worlds here, with instructors offering valuable street smart tactics and tips based on experience. The Truck course covers ground ladders, forcible entry, ventilation, search, overhaul, the use of both hand tools and power tools, and more. The Engine course will cover stretching, flowing, and advancing both 1.75 and 2.5 inch hand lines, as well as hose loads, nozzle selection, and estimating stretches. Our instructors are knowledgeable, motivated, experienced, and come from a variety of departments serving in both urban and suburban settings. 

Special Requirements
Certified Firefighter I or II. You must bring full NFPA approved protective turn-out gear with SCBA at least one full cylinder. Instructors will inspect gear and reserve the right to reject any found to be unacceptable. You may also bring a flashlight.
